SOFIDY buys 21,800 m² of office space in Hamburg for € 41.7 million

Hamburg, 9 December 2014 – The French Sofidy fund has acquired around 21,800 m² of office space in the Hamburger Meile building complex in Barmbek. The main tenant of the office floors above the shopping centre is the city of Hamburg, who have a long-term contract. The purchase value was € 41.7 million. Funding was provided by the Paris branch of the German bank BayernLB. As Sofidy reported on their website, this should be the first of several acquisitions being planned for Germany.
Sofidy has been designing and developing investment and savings products for the funds sector since 1987; these are mostly geared towards retail properties, but do include around one-third office properties.
